SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Tailgate and Party, located at 33 Phila Street in Saratoga Springs, is closing its doors. Owner Kirsten Lambert made the announcement on Facebook on August 15. "I had taught for almost 30 years and I thought this might be a 'semi-retired' opportunity. However, it has done so well that any sort of retirement as an owner has not been on the table."In her retirement, Lambert is going to work with an animal rescue. Tailgate and Party sells balloons, party supplies, gifts, Saratoga Race Course merchandise, and more. She said Paper Dolls on Broadway will be taking over the balloons and “party” part of the store. 18-year-old arrested for assaulting Illinois officer and school worker

O'FALLON, Ill. -- An 18-year-old is accused of assaulting a school employee and O'Fallon officer after being denied entry into a football game. Antwan Douglas of Cahokia Heights now faces several felony charges.A statement from the city of O'Fallon, Illinois, says that Douglas tried to get into the end of the O’Fallon Township High School Blue and Gold football game. After being denied entry he, "pushed the employee about the neck." Doulas resisted arrest and punched an O'Fallon officer in the head several times.Douglas is currently in the St. Clair County Jail with a $65,000 bond.

After Sunday's hurriquake, the waters have begun to recede, and in Ventura County, residents are assessing the damage from the magnitude 5.1 temblor centered near Ojai and numerous aftershocks between 2.0 and 3.0 in magnitude.At restaurants and stores, surveillance cameras captured merchandise falling off shelves, with glass bottles smashing on the floor. Magnitude 5.1 quake rattles nerves as California endures Tropical Storm Hilary No major damage or injuries were reported, though at Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, cracks could be seen in walls, and some grates, apparently for air ducts, fell to the floor. In addition, some picture frames were broken and a bell in the bell tower came off its track, but school officials categorized the impacts as minor.

By Brenda Goodman | CNNPeople who survived Covid-19 early in the pandemic, before there were vaccines, continued to be at higher risk for a slew of health problems for up to two years after they got over their initial infections, a new study finds, and that was especially true if they were hospitalized.These health problems include heart problems, blood clots, diabetes, neurologic complications, fatigue and difficulties with mental health and have come to be known collectively as long Covid.When researchers tallied the risks for more than 80 different complications that are associated with long Covid, they translated the collective toll into a metric called a disability adjusted life year, or DALY. Each DALY represents one year of healthy life lost to illness. They found that long Covid generated more than 80 disability-adjusted life years, or DALYs, for every 1,000 people who weren’t hospitalized for their initial infection.That means long Covid creates a higher burden of disabilit...
