Newly released body camera video showed a rough confrontation between a suspect and an officer in Southwest Miami-Dade. The suspect was seen swinging and punching the officer, which prompted him to reach for his Taser in order to subdue the suspect. 2 carjacking suspects in custody after I-95 pursuit ends in Deerfield Beach

Two men have been taken into custody after, authorities said, they led police on a brief pursuit along Interstate 95 that came to an end in Deerfield Beach.Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies on Wednesday afternoon were following a blue Bentley convertible occupied by the men, who are believed to have been involved in a carjacking in Boca Raton.The pursuit came to an end near Sample Road. Fire rescue crews put out mobile home fire in North Miami Beach; no injuries reported

Several people were evacuated from a mobile home fire after it caught on fire. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the scene of the mobile home at 2281 NE 135th Lane, Wednesday afternoon. All occupants were safely evacuated by rescue crews. Units were able to put out the fire. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.

Local crews aid rescue efforts in Vermont after severe flooding

Rescues and cleanup efforts continued in Vermont Wednesday with help from a Massachusetts task force after devastating floods this week. Record breaking rainfall caused severe flooding in parts of the Northeast over multiple days, pushing people out of their homes and businesses and leaving behind a mess of mud and debris as waters receded. Crews from Massachusetts deployed from Beverly earlier this week. By Wednesday, a task force spokesperson said the team had rescued 18 adults, five children and two dogs from one multi-family building surrounded by floodwaters in Cambridge, Vermont. “In some areas, the water was eight-feet deep around their property,” said spokesperson Tom Gatzunis. Gatzunis said there was “no power, no utilities, no way to get in or out.” “With this heat,” he continued, “it can turn into a pretty bad situation quickly.”The Massachusetts Task Force One sent 45 members to Vermont alongside boats and other equipment as part of its eff...
