Police searching for suspect in deadly Aurora double shooting

DENVER (KDVR) — Police are searching for a suspect who was allegedly involved in a deadly double shooting Monday night. According to the Aurora Police Department, the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 14000 block of East Iowa Drive. The area is in the Sable Ridge neighborhood, west of The Medical Center of Aurora. Two victims were shot and taken to a local hospital. Colorado’s 3-day waiting period for gun sales to stand while lawsuit plays out Hours later at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, police confirmed that an unidentified male died at the hospital from the injuries he sustained in the shooting.The Aurora Major Crime Homicide Unit is now investigating.Detectives are interested in any information about a white or gray Nissan Frontier that was seen fleeing from the scene.Anyone with information on the shooting or the suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. New York (CNN) — The backlash against self-checkout is growing, and stores are starting to dial back on the technology after it exploded over the past few years.Booths, a British supermarket chain, said it’s removing self-checkout stations in all but two of its 28 stores. A child has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after they were struck by a vehicle in North York.Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Sentinel Road and Derrydown Road, just south of Finch Avenue, around 8:35 a.m.Police say a boy under the age of 12 was hit by a vehicle in front of a school. He was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.Police believe the boy has an injured leg.The driver involved remained at the scene.
