SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) – A South Bay mobile bakery is back in business just two weeks after its van was stolen and wrecked. The community pitched in to help get the duo get a new ride.Rolling in a new white van, Juan Soto and Ernesto Botello were back out on the streets by the Santa Clara County Jail selling their pan dulces on Thursday. Kettle corn vendor has van stolen in Pleasanton “I’m feeling fantastic, honestly,” Botello said. “Like I feel so good being back over here. I kind of got, like, homesick. Although I live in Los Baños.”Just two weeks ago, the duo got their van got stolen in Los Baños. It was later found emptied out and wrecked in a creek.“We had a whole load of bread to go to work the next day and it was gone. They stole that too, and our equipment,” Soto said. In just two weeks, the community stepped up to donate enough money for the duo to get a new van. A new women’s pro hockey league will begin competing in North America as early as January, a development made possible Thursday when a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers purchased the Premier Hockey Federation, two people with direct knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press.The seven-team PHF will cease operations, one of the people said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the deal between Dodgers co-owner Mark Walter and the PHF had not been announced. The new league will bring together North America’s most accomplished female players and would likely include the more talented players from Europe and Asia who are already competing in the PHF.Mark Walter’s firm acquired what one of the people described as “certain assets” of the PHF. Woman gets into housing after more than a decade living on street

SAN DIEGO -- Rachel Hayes lives in a tent on 14th and Commercial Street in downtown San Diego. "I've been at the spot for just over two months, and I was under the bridge for about four months," said Hayes, who has been living on the streets of San Diego since 2012. "I was incarcerated in jail and when you come out, you have nothing, so I became homeless." The IMF agrees to a long-awaited bailout for Pakistan of $3 billion

ISLAMABAD (AP) — The International Monetary Fund agreed to provide $3 billion to Pakistan — a long-awaited relief to bail out the impoverished country’s ailing economy. The nine-month agreement must be approved by the IMF’s Executive Board, which is expected to make a final decision in mid-July, a top IMF official, Nathan Porter, said in a statement late Thursday.Porter, the IMF’s mission chief to Islamabad, said Pakistan’s economy has faced several external shocks, such as the catastrophic floods in 2022 that killed 1,739 people, caused $30 billion in damage and impacted millions of Pakistanis.
