Spring into GreenLooking for an excuse to slow down and marvel at the natural beauty in Los Gatos? This month, which marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, is also Keep Los Gatos Beautiful Month. Residents can celebrate both occasions with Spring into Green on April 23 at Town Plaza Park. The festivities will last from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants can attend the mayor’s tree-planting ceremony, browse exhibitor booths, listen to live music and sample fresh wares from the Los Gatos Farmers’ Market.There will be a free bike valet located on Main Street for those who want to ditch the car for the day.National Library WeekNational Library Week kicks off April 23, and the Los Gatos Library is hosting a creative—and eco-friendly—event to celebrate. (KRON) -- One person is dead after a shooting Saturday afternoon, the San Jose Police Department announced on Twitter. The shooting happened around 12:37 p.m. near Keyes Street and S 3rd Street.The unidentified person was in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, SJPD said. A recent update by San Jose police revealed the victim died, marking the city's eighth homicide of the year.As of 1:30 p.m., there are street closures in place. LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) -- The driver in a fatal hit-and-run between an electric bike and an SUV in Lakewood Friday night was arrested Saturday.Steven Bielas was arrested on charges of failing to remain at the scene of a crash.Around 9 p.m. Friday, Lakewood police responded to the 600 block of Wadsworth Boulevard.Agents found a man suffering from serious injuries. He was riding his electric bike southbound in the lanes of traffic on Wadsworth, north of 6th Avenue.
