LOUIS - A tornado warning issued Saturday in Madison County, Illinois has expired as of 4:45 p.m. This was the only tornado warning or watch in the St. Louis metropolitan area as of 4 p.m. Saturday. When a warning is issued, a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar and there is imminent danger to life and property. In that case, seek shelter immediately.If a tornado watch is issued, atmospheric conditions are favorable for a tornado to develop, but a tornado has not yet been sighted or indicated by weather radar.Along with this threat, there were some severe thunderstorms, gusty winds and small hail chances earlier Saturday afternoon. CHARLES, Mo. - Severe weather is moving to the east, but it led to some significant hail Saturday afternoon in the St. Louis region, especially in St. Charles County. Hail ranged from golf ball-size to quarter-size in St. Charles County. FOX 2 learned of multiple hail threats around 2 p.m. Some of these hail threats even moved into parts of Maryland Heights, Overland and St. Ann. I-64 flooded in St. Louis after water main break ST. LOUIS - A busy stretch of Interstate 64 flooded in St. Louis during rush hour Friday afternoon after a water main break. The interstate was flooded in both directions near Tamm Avenue. A 30-inch water main break happened right around 4 p.m. Friday. Water has been steadily gushing from the main for several hours. Traffic was backed up several miles in both directions. Westbound drivers slowly navigated through one lane. Eastbound drivers were at a standstill for much of the rush hour. The highway reopened Saturday morning after cleanup from first responders. Teen dead after BMW goes airborne, flips in Long Beach: Police A teenager is dead after he was ejected from an airborne car in a wrong-way crash in Long Beach on Saturday.A few minutes before 2:30 a.m., a 2021 BMW struck a curb while headed west on the eastbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway near the 103 Freeway, causing the car to go airborne and overturn, the Long Beach Police Department said in a news release. An 18-year-old from Wilmington who had been in the rear of the car was found by rescuers but declared dead at the scene.The other two people in the car, an 18-year-old Wilmington man who was driving and another passenger who had been in the front seat, were taken to local hospitals for treatment, police said.The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which is looking into "impaired driving and speed" as "possible factors" in the crash, police added. Sunnyvale woman dies in solo vehicle crash in Mountain View A Sunnyvale woman died following a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Mountain View, near the Ellis overcrossing, on Saturday morning.Authorities were notified at 6:45 a.m. about the crash, which involved a white Nissan Rogue sports utility vehicle and its 65-year-old driver.“For unknown reasons she lost control” of the vehicle and ended up hitting the barrier, then the center divide, before finally crashing into a tree on the shoulder, according to CHP Officer Art Montiel.The driver was treated by medics and was en route to the hospital when she reportedly died from her injuries.Following the crash, the two right lanes of northbound U.S. 101 were closed down until approximately 10:20 a.m.
