81-Year-Old Woman Injured in Single-Vehicle Collision near 22nd Avenue SoutheastPUYALLUP, WA (July 17, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, a driver was arrested after crashing into a woman’s home on 23rd Street Southeast.The incident occurred just after 5:50 a.m., near 22nd Avenue Southeast on July 13th.Per reports, the driver of a black Hyundai veered off the road and crashed into the bedroom of an 81-year-old woman.Investigators say the driver was heading east on 23rd Avenue SE and lost consciousness. The vehicle then traveled down 22nd Street SE before hitting a fence and coming to rest against the back of the residence.Medics arrived and transported the elderly woman who was inside the home to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Two Adults and Two Children Hurt in Street Race Accident near L StreetTACOMA, WA (July 17, 2023) – Friday morning, two adults and two children were injured in a street racing collision on Interstate 5.Police responded to the scene just before 8:30 a.m., near the McKinley and L Street overpasses.Investigators say the 18-year-old driver of a vehicle was racing with a white BMW. MENLO PARK — Two men in their 20s are facing several felony charges, including sexual assault and possession of child pornography, after using a Snapchat account with a fake name and outdated photos to convince a 16-year-old girl to meet, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.The alleged assaults took place in April of last year, when Menlo Park resident Sergio Caudillo Leon, 27, contacted the teen on Snapchat, authorities said. Leon picked the girl up at her San Jose home at 11 p.m. on April 6, according to the DA’s office, and told her to disable her phone’s location services, leaving her unable to be tracked online through the device.On their way to Leon’s home, they picked up 24-year-old Kevin Bladimir Cruz in East Palo Alto. OAKLAND — Seventeen months after he was arrested and charged with murder, an Oakland man was freed from jail when a judge determined there wasn’t ample evidence against him, court records show.Christopher Hunt, 37, was originally charged in the September 2021 shooting of 41-year-old Kanawa Long, of Hayward, based on eyewitness statements and video surveillance showing a Volvo speeding away from the homicide. But after Hunt’s preliminary hearing, Judge Kevin Murphy found prosecutors had failed to reach the low bar of probable cause required to advance the case further.Murphy’s ruling was made in February but has not been previously reported.
