Gophers football coach P.J. Fleck teased a story in July about an intriguing one-on-one competition between him and star safety Tyler Nubin.“He’s been talking for years about playing me in HORSE,” Fleck said at Big Ten Media Days. “This offseason, I finally gave him his chance. Roloff to retire as president of St. Catherine University

Becky Roloff, president of St. Catherine University, will retire from her post next summer.Roloff, who earned her bachelor’s degree from the university in 1976, has been president since 2016.“My professional life was launched when I came through Gate 1 as a first generation student in August of 1972,” Roloff wrote in a message to the university community. “The circle will close 52 years later in a role that is the privilege of my career. Glenridge Road bridge struck by Freightliner

GLENVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Tuesday afternoon, the bridge on Glenridge Road was struck by a 2012 Freightliner. The truck made it under the bridge but sustained significant damage. Graciani, admitted to the police that he was unaware of the actual height of his vehicle. Graciani was charged with NYS Vehicle and Traffic law 384-14 Exceeds Clearance, 511-1a Suspended NYS License, and Glenville Town Code, 255-13 Fail to Obey Overhead Clearance.  There were no injuries reported. This is the second incident involving the Glenridge Road bridge in recent weeks. On August 7, the bridge was struck by a 2017 International.

Lawmaker has run-in with thief, proposes shoplifting bill

ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- Experts say more than 13 billion dollars worth of goods are stolen from retailers every year and only one in 48 shoplifters are caught. One lawmaker who had first-hand experience with a shoplifter is now proposing legislation to protect employees who intervene. "I just, I immediately turn around, I chase the guy down in the parking lot, and I just grab the handle bar and I just you know in a threatening voice said ‘LET IT GO.’ I’m not letting this little piece of you know what get away with this," said Assemblymember Michael Fitzpatrick, who was able to ward off an attempted thief at his local target in Suffolk county. Illinois man sentenced to 10 years for Peoria's Planned Parenthood clinic's arson

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) - For throwing a makeshift Molotov cocktail into Peoria's Planned Parenthood clinic earlier this year, a Chillicothe man will go to federal prison for 10 years. Tyler Massengill, 32, clad in an orange jumpsuit of a Peoria County Jail inmate, showed no emotion as the sentence was read aloud. He stood before the judge and apologized, saying he never meant to hurt anyone. Rather, he said, it was the opposite. "I feel for the people who have lost their jobs. I'm not trying to play like I am victim at this. I was sincerely hurt," he said, noting that he thought his unborn child was aborted at the clinic. He said he was a gifted student, a state champion wrestler, but then when he stopped taking his medication at the beginning of high school, his life spiraled out of control.
